Since my 2Gb Telkom Internet is capped, that means I should be able
to browse local websites - Yes Well that is WRONG , well the IOL news website ie http://www.iol.co.za references an adserver(.adtech.de) in Germany or another local website has Google Analytics script in the website. News24 uses the Doubleclick Adserver (ad.za.doubleclick.net) not sure where it as I am capped. Then you browsing comes to an abrupt stop.

Looks like News24 loaded eventually after a few minutes.
Just some useless Info.
Capped account:- gateway: 165.146.140.1 - DNS 196.43.45.190,196.43.46.190 IP Address: 41.x.x.x
Not capped____:- gateway: 165.146.128.1 - DNS 196.43.50.190,196.43.53.190 IP Address: 165.146.x.x

either add those two domains into your host file or use an adblocker - that should sort you out.

The ads on those sites are hosted internationally. The page won't load if it can't load the ads, so as mentioned try a decent ad blocker. Adblock Plus is probably your best bet if you're using Firefox.

Some time back (8 months to a year ago I think) someone posted a link to a pretty comprehensive host file for this very reason (to block ads). Is it possible to find the thread or repost the link?

I think it was LoneGunman, might help if someone is searching for that post.

Thanks folks, but it seems the host file links are no longer valid.
