can't use news.is.co.za with Telkom? Hey i'm a noob with news servers.

I changed it to news.saix.net and it's working 
No, you can't. You need to connect to your own ISPs news server. As stated in this thread there are 4 ISPs with news servers: SAIX, IS, Web Africa and Mweb.
Telkom is SAIX. There are lots of IS resellers (Afrihost, Axxess, Openweb to name a few). Web Africa is Web Africa. Mweb is Mweb.
