Does anyone know where I can buy flashgels locally? Specifically these would be nice. They're specifically made bigger to fit in the Vivitar 285HV flashgel slot.

have you had a look at photo developing shops and maybe your camera shop? The closest the guy at my camera shop got to a gel was a Stofen diffuser :/ I've been looking for gels as well and I haven't had any luck.
What are you planning on using the gels for? Colour correction or just gelling the background? You could most probably use Cellophane paper to gel a background?

I'm very tempted to just buy them from LEE directly. They're not that expensive on the link above, but I wanted to see if there was a local distributer. I found a link on a forum to a wholesaler in Fourways, but no name.

I'll probably get them off the UK site and then just PayPal the money.

As for the use, maybe a little bit of both, though color correction seems a bit redundant with post-processing options for that. I'd like to play with backgrounds and such. The bit of reading I did suggested that the heat from the flash might make cellophane impractical, but I might give it a go.

The Rosco gels I got from my aunt actually melted on my flash after a few pops at full power :O You could probably just play around with the cellophane seeing its so cheap

Just wondering what would happen if you had a yellow colour cast from the ambient lighting and a blue cast from the flash... wouldn't that make PP to remove it a bit trickier?

Juice I can have a look around here by me (Switzerland) and organise to mail them to you. But the price on that web site makes me think it wont be any cheaper to get them direct. Let me know if you want me to have a looky see. Ok?

Hey MMM, thanks a lot for the offer. That's really awesome! Like you say, I think I'll just get them off the UK site though. Seems more direct, but I really appreciate your willingness to help. Thanks!

I think you'd want to correct for the ambient light only. Removing the tint from the gel would be a bit pointless.
