Hello,

Where to game locally.. everything dead or what?

I would like to be able to play some oldish games too like SC1, Red Alert etc..

Am I out of luck? ^^

Which gaming servers are being frequented most atm, and are the gaming servers from MWEB, WEB AFRICA etc. all limited to their customers, or is anyone welcome to join?

Cheers

Unfortunately local gaming services are limited to latest releases, as well as classics like COD4, and mostly FPS games.
There are other strat gaming servers available locally, but i'm a FPS gamer so i wouldn't know exactly...

I prefer WAGE (Web Africa) (Not just because i'm an admin ;)) http://www.wage.co.za
Telkom/SAIX gaming service http://games.saix.net
iBurst http://igameonline.co.za (Which seems to have been taken over by mygaming ...)
Internet Solutions http://isgaming.co.za

They all differ, but for the broadest choice of games, i recommend WAGE.

If you don't find your game on either of the above, then you're out of luck...

Not at all, anyone and everyone is free to join the servers. Although most ISP's who offer gaming servers, will offer free bandwidth used on Gaming servers.
AFAIK Web Africa do (Freezone), as well as iBurst...

I Need unreal tournament 1999 or 2004 server :D

I see there are people still playing this game at unreal.co.za so I will go ask there next..

The issue with RE1 and SC1 and most of the old games is the fact that they have been discontinued by their manufacturing companies and as a result it is impractical to host servers for them. RE1 used to connect to gamespy matchmaking servers or something like that, or westwood online... cant remember, those services are offline indefinitely.

What about games like Unreal Tournament 1999 and Return To Castle Wolfenstein? :P

Halflife 1, and Aliens vs Predator
