Hey All

I recently had to format and reinstall my Server 2003.... My Local intranet is on the server and I was able to back it up before reinstalling windows... now I do not understand why the intranet won't work after putting the files back where I found them.

we open it up on a domain link eg:

http://myserver/Intranet

and it just does not want to connect where am I going wrong???

Thanks

I'm not an expert in this, but it sounds to me like you need to configure your IIS.

Just copy/pasting a bunch of files into C:\Inetpub\wwwroot is unlikely to work?

oh ok well I guess I will give it a try seeing as I never setup the Intranet site originally and don't know much about locally hosted websites...

Will keep you updated.

Thanks

Didn't the previous admin/system eng. keep some sort of documentation for this?
Also I would think they'd have had a database or else what's the point of an intranet..

*shakes his head and wonder why this topic isn't in the software forum, because obviously people don't know how to configure *****

When did server configuration become a part of programming? Is it because "we know PC's"? Want me to program your VCR/DVR's time clock for you? Or come install your DSTV? Or your network?

Because you know, it all falls under the category "PCs" and we know EVERYTHING...

 Same **** when some kid asks me what he should go study because he wants to go into IT, and I ask him what he's interested in, and replies... "PC's"
