Local port prioritisation

Not sure about the port prioritisation - local traffic is defined as traffic that does not have to hit an international peering point - i.e. the traffic stays local on the SA internetwork

I can't say for sure but I can tell you what happened once when I tried playing a game of SC at the SGS servers once.

I play usually at nite when I get home from work..latency sits about 40~50 . I had a day off one friday and decided to play CS at 2:30pm ...latency was 240~260 , but my browsing seemed the same as usual (not effected). I am of the opinion that port prioritisation exists locally, not just the international connection.

yep, i've had a similar experience with high ping on CS during the day. I phoned telskum and helpdesk said it was due to the shaping.

<br />Hi,

No, port prioritization doesn't affect local traffic.

That means they can distinguish between local and international traffic. Eh?
