Local Torrents?

Is there any p2p or local torrents here in SA?

Any help appreciated
 
Lol i take it as there aint any in SA :P, im not much of a pro with ADSL, only 19 years old so still pretty noob at it.
 
yes there are local torrent sites in SA actually only two that are worth it.
 
That was an unfortunate occurrence indeed. However I am sure that not too many people had anything compromised that was absolutely critical.

Most people use free mail proggies to sign up for things, if they have any sense.
 
Thanks all for the info and help. 4cer, you mentioned there are two? If greenlab would be one, whats the other?
 
yup the other one is strict, invite only and cannot be mentioned, sorry bud.

But greenlab is an awesome budding site, they should do ya just fine.
 
The other site that is very good is WWW.TH3ZONE.COM. It's not local but it's very lakker. The only site I know of that can utilize all the available download speed available on your connection. Follow the Rapidshare links.

EDIT: Ok it also has torrents, i dont if its because i use openweb or what but i battle to open the page, actually all pages of th3zone.com but anyway thanks. :)

There seems to be a problem with Greenlab. It looked promising at the beginning, though I did notice quite a bit of emphasis on Upload/Download ratios and a lot of "don't be a leecher" type of talk. What they failed to realise is that since they didn't have many members, there wasn't a lot to download. And consequently people didn't visit as much. Hence without many Peers, the download speed was much poorer than the international torrents.

While you have a situation like that you can't start imposing heavy restrictions.

Then came the e-mail debacle. This really showed the site up as poorly run. This breeches all known privacy rules of running a website and I wouldn't be surprised if they got sued/shut down.

I don't know what they are up to now because my username has been disabled. This just underlines my point about unprofessionalism. Has it become a pay-site now? That's what they seemed to be aiming for all along. Schoolboys trying to make it rich!
 
Its so funny that there are always so many international torrent sites and in SA there are only 2... and its all buddy buddy.

Weird that people dont want to share what they in any case download internationally.

Lol very well put and brilliant points. Thanks Skeptic. There is no loss in trying so mayswell. I usually use piratebay just takes a month or two to download a pc game which sucks badly at 1k at most is 7k which is rare.
 
I use mininova, thepiratebay, bitenova and a few others. I can get about 2 700MB movie down over my 384K line in a weekend. Depends on the seeds and online chaps.

Have fun with the SA site maybe its good, I dont know

ok thanks. Out of the three you listed, which of them do you prefer? Best i found was piratebay :D
