Just a question - which I'm sure has been brought up here before...
Does local traffic get added to the download stats? I don't really keep tabs on my download/upload stats all that much and was just wondering if playing online games on local servers would be a better idea than using international servers, besides the fact that it would in most cases be quicker.

yes it does, but your local traffic won't get capped, so I'd recommend staying on local gaming servers rather, you shouldn't pull much bandwidth anyway, i speak under correction, but a whole month of game playing (only) won't even reach 1 gig of traffic

So basically the values I see at http://userstats.adsl.saix.net are combined local / international? If so how can I see what is local and what is international - or can't I?

Well playing Battlefield 1942 on international servers for 3 hours a night is chomping about +- 120mb each time.

I don't think you are a gamer. We play basically every night on local servers and we get caped every single month.( Using about 80 - 150 Megs per night ) 3Gig is by far to little. Telkom this is bull. If there have to be a cap for local use ,what i don't understand in the first place , than lets have at least 6 Gigs. We playing local servers over the local network( And not downloading Pornos and MP3"s like some other people)and still getting panished .Bull Bull Bull [:(!]

I still say that traffic local to telkom's ipnet should not be qualified as part of the 3Gb accounting. But naturally their system is'nt geard for this. They simply use the PPPoE statistics, and don't distinguish between local or intl traffic.
