Good day :)

Where can I buy local only unshaped data? It should be a lot cheaper than normal unshaped, right?

I want to split my bandwidth and use my mweb uncapped bandwidth to validate my steam account etc. and then use the local unshaped bandwidth to play on the local servers. I'm sure that's possible right?

Thanks

PS: How's the web africa free steam zone thing going, is it working properly? If it is then I'll just buy an unshaped gig from webafrica and then not have to worry about finishing it playing on steam - or do I misunderstand how the free zone works?

The Freezone simply means that the data sent/received from the Freezoned servers wont come off your cap.

Why are you looking for an unshaped one specifically? I get <30ms pings to all local servers, and I don't even have a special line.

Freezone steam is a bit tricky. You can't actually select a steam server...it does that automatically. So you need steamwatch to kill any other connections.

Search the WA forums..lots of info there.

Don't bother with the splitting. Get a normal a/c and accept that a bit is going to be taken off intl cap.

@froot
I get on average between 50ms and 60ms and sometimes up to 80ms ping on cs so I'm willing to pay a few rand to lower it.

I'm using a 384 line with mweb uncapped.

@havoc
Why shouldn't I bother with the splitting? It's quite simple to split it and I see axxess sells local unshaped gb for R12 so if that's gonna lower my ping then it's more than worth it.

You can split it if you want too. But you'll lose the freezone benefit.

Oh, and all local is unshaped. ;)

Sorry, I didn't mention: I'm not currently using the freezone, I was just asking how well it works.

Not all local is unshaped cos I emailed webafrica and they told me that their local data is shaped. They also said that its not IS or SAIX and that its their own network.

Hmmm ok so I'll give the axxess local a try and see if it makes any difference.

Thanks everyone :)
