Hi im sure this question might have been asked before but im afraid I dont have time to scroll thru all the threads so let me make this post..

I want to know if my local b/w usage is counted toward int cap, if that is the case when was this introduced ? When we signed up for ADSL nothing of this was mentioned, can they just go change it without user concent ? I know we agreed to term when we ordered ADSL but we did not see local bandwidth counting toward cap ?

Is it legal for businesses just to change the terms without notifying customers ?

Any of you readers here work for Telkom and could perhaps have a serious chat with one of the guys in charge about this ?

I knew there was a 3GIG cap, its pathetic but still we accepted and ordered ADSL, what we didnt agree to was local b/w adding toward that usage.

Dont you guys see you are not good in public eye ? OR dont you worry at all since you still have your monopoly going even tho it was supposed to expire this year? Is telkom's boss perhaps relative to Thabo Mbeki and worked out some sort of fraudulant (sp?) scheme on how to keep Telkom still in the loop ?

Im disgusted by the service you are providing, even more so with you just changed the terms without even calling or emailing us !

I want this to go back to the normal way of thing when we agreed to the terms, int b/w gets add to int usage, and local b/w is unlimited thats what we paid for, thats what we agreed to, we never agreed to having local b/w added to int usage !

I want a reply please, I KNOW atleast one person involved with Telkom is reading this, so please speak up and let me know why I am wasting my money ?

Thanks.

yes local and international add to the cap. After you reach the cap you can only browse local sites because international will be alot slower than your 56k modem.

appel, it doesn't make much sense that our local usage is added up with international. But it is. We're all complaining about the same thing. As far as I know, it was always this way (I could be wrong). Telkom states that we're capped because international bandwidth is so expensive. Yes it is expensive. But then DON'T penalise us for our LOCAL usage! [:(!]

*mumble*

agreed, I spend 90% of my bandwith on local (gaming) servers and because of this i must just sit on my ass and do nothing when a virus like the blaster worm is taking out pc's left right & centre, but im capped so i cant update my virus protection

on this point.. is there a local site to download norton anti virus updates from?

Guess what appel, not only is it added, but now outgoing trafic is also counted. This was just added recently just cause telkom felt like giving us an early christmass present.

Maybe they're trying to punish us for complaining.. grrrrr
