This may be the wrong place to post this but lets get some motion going here on this one.
I'm looking for a FREE (or even really cheap) locally based IMAP solution?
I have various email addresses & Yes - GMail's great ...but really, NOT that great.
The web client of GMail's become polluted with crappy none essentials and the fact that its overseas impares its speed.
Sure thing there's redundant network cables now so you'll always have access, but hey local ...is lekker right
So, in short - I'm seeking a barebones webmail & client-based solution that is hosted locally!
Ideas included:
±Hosting my own server ---> locally, still pricey!
±Going to Mweb, getting my 3GB @ R79 ---> that's shooting yourself in the foot if you have your own domain!
±Going to Afrihost and getting on the R9pm hosting plan .... 300MB ....not bad but you can't pull other addresses like GMail handles!
So ...ideas....welcome!
