Locating Factory Fitted Alarm

Our company has recently changed insurance companies and the new policy requires us to provide the brand of our alarms, which they check to see if they are approved models in order to be covered.

The car is a 2006 Corsa Utility. Anyone know where the factory fitted alarm/CL unit sits. I have already checked behind the glove box but that is taken up by the power steering unit.

If its a factory fitted alarm, then tell the insurance company its factory fitted. If they want more info they can bloody pay to have someone to find out... or they can check in their info books.

It is built into the system, hidden.

Are you referring to alarm or immobilizer? I'm not so sure that those vehicles have factory-fitted alarm.

Pretty easy to find out, press the remote button to lock it, smash the window and see if the alarm goes off.

Must be an alarm. It has one of those cabin sensors in it which can turn movement sensing off in case you have an animal.

That would be goal one if I was able to arm it. The remotes board got exposed ( wear on the buttons ) and no longer works. Bought a new transmitter overseas ( thorp wanted to charge R3k for a new remote ) so just waiting on that.

I guess it's good if its hidden. In the mean time I've just told them it's factory fitted. From reading some articles its just to check that your alarm is approved by VESA which im sure it must be if it's factory fitted.
