I am affliction spec atm, we are only raiding kara.
I find my dps maxing out at 750ish, is this normal for my gear?
What spec should i be if i want to do more dps?
Should i even be wanting to do more dps at this level?
WHat sort of spell cycle should i be doing?
ATM on random kara mobs i am doing: SL,Corr,SB SB SB SB SB...
On Bosses i am doing: SL,Corr,COA,UA,SB SB SB - rinse repeat.

We have a lock in our guild, I just can't remember he's bloody name now... will thin about it for a second.

He still has a few greens and blues with he's epics but he runs 1k - 1.2k Damage average for a Kara run

I have no idea what he's build is though. If I can just remember he's name you can check it on Armoury

This is sooo true! My hit rating on my Mage is quite high and this is the reason I can out DPS hunters for a change ^_^

Hmm, get rid of all your +crit gems (i think i saw one at least) crit is useless for aff. Get some better caster enchants eg. +hit or +dmg on gloves, +dmg on bracers, glyph of power on head is what i can see missing at a glance. Screw socket bonus if it isn't +dmg or +hit stick in +dmg or +dmg/+hit gems in those blue sockets (Veiled noble topaz is your friend). Get better gloves, both the heroic badge loot ones are good (old and new)

Destro is considered the ultimate lock DPS spec. But you need the stats to support it (min: 202 +hit, 22% crit, 1100 dmg) else affliction is better.

You should always be wanting to do more dps (hey, if you put em up there...)

drop the SL, just do Corr + SB spam + SBurn to finish the bahstard.
Most trash don't last long enough for more than 1 dot, stick on your strongest. (If you run into some tougher mobs though start with a UA)

Well if you're not on curse duty: Amp. Curse, CoD, UA, SL, Immolate, Corr, SB spam. when CoD hits insert CoA into the rotation. I only used to cast CoD if I could cast Amp Curse before it.
I liked this cast sequence as it seperated the instant casts from the cast time spells so I wouldn't get held up with global cooldown too much. (gief haste)

i desperately need that glyph for the head but my shatar rep sucks atm

I was waiting for better gloves to do the spelldmg enchant on em... problem is i cannot decide between the 60 badge token gloves in shatt or the new ones on the island. Nearest i can tell the 60 badge ones are better even tho they have lower dmg because of the two sockets vs. the single socket in the new ones, thoughts?

i like that boss cast sequence, it should work a lot better than my current one i think. i'll give it a try tonight and let you know.

knobshine is spot on Nickd. You need to get hit capped (202). Socket the +8 Spell Hit gems where ever you can. You can replace your rings with the CE Exalted Spell Hit ring and the ring off the new badge vendor.

Also, don't look at your DPS on trash. Unless multiple mos are being tanked, your DPS will be pretty low.

DPS for affliction locks means nothing. I'm running demon/affl spec at the moment and hovering around the 750-800 DPS througout Kara. The last full run we did I ended up with 4.7 million damage done and second to me was a hunter with 3.7 million.

If you wanna keep the doting
Ur first mistake is taking Suppression ( yes i know its more hit)
but suppression doesnt count towards ur SB's which are 40%+ ur dps
Soooo its better to max spell hit with ur items( 202) and use the 5 points elsewhere

Have1 point in shadow embrace cause the debuff slut counts towards soul siphon
Also you need destructive reach ,this will lower ur SB's threat and hence increase ur dps

Ur dot cicle also needs abit of work
Personally i used UA ,corrup ,sbsbsbsb on trash
and on bosses CoA, SL UA ,corrup sbsbsbs

You need to achieve a certain gear level before dropping Affliction becomes viable.

Until you're pushing into SSC/TK with some reasonable progression (LootReaver and the Fishy don't count) Destro isn't really as viable.
