hopefully heaven but probably hell
i usually only use iburst when i get home and usually experience this problem.

when i log in iburst it is fine for about 10 minutes. it then gets highly degraded and eventually nothing works. pages dont load. emails. basicly the connection seems to die. i then turn my modem off after disconnecting from the iternet.

i turn the modem on and reconnect and speeds are fine for the rest of the evening. any ideas.

i am thinking it may be some kind of 'memory' effect in the modem which is usually left on during the day although the pc is off. i use a utd with lan cable.

Halicon, never experienced that problem before. My UTD is on a LAN aswell, and the only troubles i get is that sometimes it won't connect,i just unplug, replug and then it works fine again

What kind of signal strength do you normally get, and does it vary?

When my signal strength was much poorer (varying between 1-3 LEDs, and sometimes hitting the Red LED of death) I had this very same problem quite often. Only repowering the modem would fix it.

So I don't think it is modem specific. I just don't think these modem were well designed for low signal conditions.

If you are getting 5 LED's solid, you shouldn't have this problem.
