Hey

I'm planning to get one of these speakers.. but the thing is, in my room, the set up will probably be messed up..

Because the Rear speakers will be totally out of proportion.

So i was just wondering if anyone has these speakers and can tell me more or less what the length of the cable are.

And also if one can get an extension for it..

Thanks

The rear cables are about 4.3m, give or take some, since I only had a 1.5m tape to measure with. They use ordinary RCA connectors, so I imagine you can get an extension quite easily, but I'm not sure what the maximum length will be before you start losing sound quality.

Just be aware that in a 5.1 setup, those are 'surround' speakers, not 'rear' speakers like in a 7.1 setup. Depending on what you are doing, i.e. watching movies, listening to 5.1 music, or playing a game, you may want to move them, or at least change their orientation.

This reminds me, the other night I had the most violent nightmare about my beautiful X-230 Logitech speakers. Someone came into my home and attacked them, with a hammer! Big round holes everywhere! I was totally devastated, sobbed my heart out! Went out hunting for the culprits with a baseball bat, ended up being chased around town by some evil looking chinese mafia types... bastards! Thank goodness my dogs woke me up! :D

Used for 90% gaming.. and only 10% watching..

but does it matter?

No, not really. Music listening is really the one where you would probably want to move them. The surround speakers are mostly just used for background ambience in movies, so it doesn't really matter that much for that. You should also be able to control the volume and balance of the speakers, so to make the back ones louder if they are further away than the front ones.

Yeah.. Cause I have a giga mobo.. and it came with a software.. dont' know what the name is called, but it can alter how ever many meters each speakers are away from the person sitting there :)

So I think its cool :)
