I purchased a Harmony 900 remote +- 4 years ago. Recently the battery started showing its age. I had to recharge it every few hours. I decided to replace the battery but when I tried to remove it, I found that it had swollen and was jammed in the remote.

I phoned Logitech customer care to ask if they could remove and replace the battery for me. The call was redirected to their international support center. I explained the problem to the lady and before I could ask for assistance she gave me a reference no. and asked me to mail her a few photos of the remote showing the swollen battery, which I did.

I received a mail from them after about a week saying that my package had been dispatched and would arrive within 7 days. The mail was in German so I had to Google translate it. I assumed that they were sending me a new battery. Yesterday (3 days later) I received a call from customs, wanting my ID no to clear a package and today the package was delivered.

This is what they sent me :)

A brand new Harmony Ultimate remote valued at $350. How's that for customer service! I still can't believe it. The warranty on my old remote had expired about 3 years ago.

Oh, and I also managed to pry out the battery from the old remote :)

Cool. Now pass your old remote on to someone else free of charge. I'd be happy to carry the burden for you :D
