hi guys,
Im a big fan of racing games and wanted to purchase myself a good steering wheel along with NFS-shift.
The last one I had was absolute nonsense..

Wondaring if the logitech formula force ex was any ggod?
Ive got ~R1000 to spend on the wheel + NFS shift...

Any other recommendations would be helpfull..:)

I also heard about the momo but i dunt feel like breaking the bank, unless its "realy" worth it..:)

The Formula Force EX is very good. My Brother in-law has that one, I have the much older Formula force GP (aslo force feedback) and it must be about 7 years old, done so many hours of racing with it and it still is as strong as ever. The EX is pretty much built the same as mine, but it has a lot more buttons. I would recommend it anyday.

Within your budget, i think the Ex is your best bet.

If you asking about it in terms of other wheels. It's near the bottom considering gaming wheel setups which can go up to R 40,000.

I've used it with Rfactor and Gran Turismo, its decent. It will provide you with entertainment and definitely preferable over using a keyboard or Joypad.

So if you looking for something in that price range
...is better than a keyboard
...is better than a joypad
then you've found it in the Ex

Thx guys..
also wondering do you guys knw where i can find a separate manual H-type gear box??
Remember seeing one back in the days but wasn't realy intereted..:(
I dunt see myself playing a rally game, and changing gears using the wheel mounted shift paddles....

For racing games its fine cause you dunt turn alot anyways, but when it comes to rally and drifting, it wuld be nice to have an H-type gear shifter :)
Taking the car from 5th to 2nd in one go...and so on
Was just wondering anyways.....

Logitech don't sell their h-shifters separately.
You could probably get them on Ebay.
As for how it connects and whether it can, im unsure, google it or contact Logitech.
If it does, then just buy a H-shifter on Ebay.

The Logitech Momo is i think better than the Ex, im not sure what price its going for though. I thought it had been discontinued, but i see it's there in IRG's link.
There's also the Driving Force GT.

But all in all, i think both those wheels might see you edge out of budget.
