Logitech G500s

Does anyone know when the Logitech G500s (note the "s") will be available in South Africa?

I've been reading some reviews about it which were written from the beginning of May but I still can't seem to find it in any of the stores in SA.

Yeah I know. After looking at this I was finally displeased with the appearance of the normal G500.

On a side note, i was shocked when Logitech sent me my warranty replacement for my G700 and it was a G700s.
Only thing is its exactly the same mouse except for the newer sensor.

I just checked my Frontosa price list - no S. Odd.

The main difference is in the sensor, it supports higher DPI, and seems to be slightly more accurate. I have a G500, G500S, G700 and G700s. The s-series have no new features, no more buttons etc, it's just better tracking. Well, it actually feels like it might be a bit more durable, in terms of button lifetime etc, but it may just be that the s are new and don't feel as 'used' as my originals. All in all, I can't say there's a massive difference. If you liked the G500 and are after a new mouse, by all means, the G500s is good - it's all the same plus higher resolution and some white lines painted on the top for visual impression. Oh, and I think the 700s is getting better battery life than my 700, but I haven't done any specific testing, that's just a gut feel on how often they're getting charged.

I actually find that pretty ugly. I used to use the G500. Much preferred the look of that. Great mouse until I started having sensor problems.

Luckily I've had mine for years and it's easily been the best mouse I've ever owned. The 500s is quite Sexy.

I had my G500 for just under a year before it packed up. Currently using a SteelSeries Sensei MLG but I have a spare G500 for just in case.

I would have considered this mouse if I never had to return 5 (FIVE!) G500's to Logitech over 3 years. The cables were just plain dodgy, hopefully they realized how crap they were and fixed them in this model.

Same here, only had one but exact same problem. Pity, I always preferred Logitech above the rest.

Wow that sucks. Must have been lucky with the one I got then. The thing about the logitech mice that I love so much is the scroll wheel.
