Logitech has been among the companies most eagerly embracing converging technologies, particularly in terms of the digital home. The Squeezebox is a perfect example of this philosophy: it is a device that allows you to converge music from any number of PCs in the house, as well as Internet radio, to one’s centralised home theatre or hi-fi system, and to control the playback from anywhere within the home. It consists of two main ‘pieces’: the receiving base station (which connects to your hi-fi, amp, or speakers), and the remote control. These connect to each other via Wi-Fi, and the base station connects to the home network via either Wi-Fi or Ethernet.

I have the legacy Squeezebox III. Same technology, slightly older look and feel. I bought the device in the US where bandwidth is free flowing, so used it to stream radio, access Pandor, Rhapsody and a couple of other products. Now I use it almost exclusively for Internet radio, and the one or two Pandora features that still work. Overall the device is excellent. The quality of the signal is on par with normal radio / CD, and I play it through a set of Bose Companion III which makes the whole experience a lot sweeter. Only caution is that it is bandwidth hungry, and can cosume between 800mb and a gb if you leave it playing the whole day. It is also highly dependent on a stable internet connection. It doesn't like Neohell, however, works perfectly on a 512kb ADSL line and above.

I predominantly use it for streaming radio,
