Logitech USB headset problem

Just out of the blue my logitech usb headset no longer works in XP, makes distorted noise. ( USB headset that can be use without soundcard)

BUT

Works in Vista

so something much have gone corrupt in xp, any help without full reinstallation ?

Sounds silly, but have you tried it in a different usb port?

Yea have done that XP does not work...VISTA works...in same port, gotta be something to do with USB sound drivers or something

Try removing the USB devices - controllers and hubs, let windows re-detect them. Unless the USB sound driver has changed (which is what the Logitech uses since it has it's own soundcard built in), your USB drivers probably went belly-up.

damm this is driving me nuts! I even copied usbuadio.sys from my laptop xp copy, still no go
