I'm out of ideas on this one. I recently purchased this mouse, which works great, only it is a bit of a pain to get my PC to pick it up.

Basically after switching my PC on the mouse is not picked up, i.e. no response. The only way I can get it to work is by unplugging and re-plugging it into the USB port. This happens on all the USB ports, same with my Logitech keyboard.

Got tired of that, so I did a format and re-install of Win XP (SP3), got latest Mobo drivers, etc. but no joy. Now I have my keyboard plugged into a PS2 port (USB to PS2 converter), which works fine. However, if I do the same with the mouse I loose some of the programmable features as the Logitech software does not "see" the mouse when it's plugged into a PS2 port.

After some Googling it appears that the functionality of my mobo's (3-year old MSI board) USB ports might be letting go. I am hoping this is not the case, and hopefully someone has experienced this before, and found a solution.

Any ideas?

If it is your mobo, why no try put in a PCI card with additional USB ports? I have the same mouse on my Gigabyte p35 board, no problems. Used stock win7 drivers and just recently installed the latest Setpoint drivers. No hastles with either.

You tried using Logitech's SetPoint Drivers?
I have, got latest version, but no change.

That is an idea thanks. Will give that a bash, those cards can't be too expensive.

When I read the first post my thought was also mobo usb port problem. Easy to test though. Plug your mouse into other pc.

I have a PC that will not read specific USB flash disks on the one front USB port.... they do tend to funny things at times!

Yes I've noted that as well. Specifically my Nokia data cable is very iffy.

No problems setting up with the included CD. I really like the ability to change the DPI with a click of the mouse button. Great gaming mouse, you will not be disappointed.
