Logitech Z5500 speaker stands?

Anyone have a good solution for speaker stands for the Z5500's? I found a nice thread, but none of those models are available here, or would cost lots to import (mainly due to shipping). Best I could find so far were the Jazz speaker stands, but I can't get a good enough picture to see if they can be modded to fit.

I am happy to do the mod work, but I need a decent base to start with. Just struggling to find something in SA I can work with.

Or even better, cheapass stands that I don't have to mod and can maybe just cable tie the speakers to.

I bought similar stand to this from Furniture city a few years back but do not know if they are still being stocked. My advice go and check at audio visual stores if you haven't and even furniture stores.

If this does not work for you just build your own ones.

A friend of mine repurposed a set he found on gumtree like so.

With a cross piece to help mounting

That's basically perfect. Did he make that cross piece bit? I'm guessing found something that will work as it's not "even".

I think those were part of the stand, but nothing you can't cut and drill to fit out of metal.
