I just got a new sound card (Asus Xonar DX XD - 7.1) yesterday and just want to make sure I set it up properly. Them speakers are great and sound quality is great for the price.

Just bought these today. Def not worth R5k that they normally ask, but for R2.5K you cant go wrong. Lacks a little bit in the mids, but a slight EQ adjustment can fix that. Best 5.1 system on a budget.

The Z5500-s (which they supposedly replace) are some jizz tastic speakers, I would LOVE a set.
If the newer generation is not as good .. im very sad

Im afraid its definitely not AS good. Not bad, but they definitely didn't replace the Z5500 with a set of speakers of higher quality.

I recently lost my z5500 in a fire. After listening to the z906s I was not impressed at all. Finally settled on a set of corsair sp2500 (2.1) speakers (for R2500) and I am very happy. I'd even go as far as saying I prefer them to the z5500 (my main use for the speakers has changed from gaming to music).

Here is a proper comparison with the z906 and z5500, and why you should keep the z5500 if your thinking of [-]upgrading[/-] *cough* downgrading.
