Funny how one sees the same people that whinge about corruption and crime in South Africa are the same ones that refuse to pay their TV licences.

Some even boasting about how they are breaking the law!

The SABC is battling its backside off to get people to pay their licenses. They ought to just add it to your taxes or something.

Well with the **** they show, and all the ANC propaganda, do you blame them?

IMHO the TV license thing is one of thos bullsh1t laws that should have been scrapped aeons ago.

You have an point... BUT the way I see it, the money you pay for your TV license is more of a TAX, and all that money gets used for is for the top brass at the SABC to line their pockets... IE they are corrupt and through corruption, nepotism, they line their own pockets and take for themselves our hard earned money!! So in a way, by not paying your tv license, you are preventing crime! So there are TWO evils here and you need to decide for yourself, which of the two evils you are willing to tolerate.

I could pay my TV license, but that just results in other people committing a crime. I would rather commit one myself, in an altruistic act, in order to save the corrupt officials at the SABC from themselves!! I know.. I know... I'm such a good person!

No TV, no license. This is pretty obvious.

When they send you a summons or what ever, they don't know whether you still have that TV or not.
So in my opinion, once you have a license, you have to pay for it (renew).
