Hopefully I will be able to upgrade my PC soon, playing Battlefield 3 at less than 20fps on lowest just does not work at all.
Please quote the following for me and maybe advise me as why I shouldn't choose the items I did.

Intel i5 2500k
Biostar TZ68A+
Corsair CMZ4GX3M1A1600C9 4GB
Point of View GeForce GTX560Ti 2048MB

Thanks in advance.

Your CPU is fine. If you don't plan to OC at all then take the 2500 (although it's only R100 cheaper). If you can afford a grand more, the i7 2600(k) is a worthy upgrade if you don't upgrade often.
Why take a Biostar motherboard? I'm not the only one that would rather recommend an Asus/Gigabyte/Intel motherboard.
The memory is fine. Take a look at 2x4GB if your budget so allows, or 2x2GB if not.
The graphics card is fine. I'm not really familiar with PoV cards but from experience would recommend Asus/Gigabyte/EVGA.

Price-wise I cannot help you, although it would be around R3800 for the mobo/cpu/ram and then the price of the graphics card.

I've never had a motherboard brand other than Asus, but I've read nothing but good things about that Biostar board, but the upgrade still hangs in the balance seeing as my parental units have to pay, I just hope my parents see this as maybe a Christmas gift as my current PC was bought 4 years ago. Using various online stores I can find all those components listed for around R5500.

Not sure of your set up but if you getting a new CPU and GPU you're probably going to need a new PSU aswell, I am looking at building a very similiar PC soon except I will rather get an ATI card as it's slightly cheaper and I found sybaritic or esquire {if you've got a freind with dealership credentials} to be the cheapest place for parts.

Correct. At the PSU statement.
BF3 loves Physx iirc so don't stray from Nvidia for that one.

I found this review and the guy is using almost exactly the same setup as I'm planning, I just won't use a SSD and will only be getting 4GB ram at first, everything else is the same OS and PSU and if I upgrade I will get the MSI GTX560 Ti Twin Frozr II instead of the Point of View because of the BF3 issue with the 560 Ti that is fixed with a bios update that the MSI allows but not the Point of View.

Would a dealer please let me know the price of a MSI N560GTX TI HAWK?

I would also go for a Asus/Gigabyte MB and why the Z68, P67 will be fine.

Asus P8H67-M LE R - R1025
Intel i5 2500k - R1960
Kingston KVR1333D3N9/4G - R272
Point of View GTX560TI 2048MB GDDR5 256-BIT - R2620
Antec TruePower TP-650 - R???

Minus the PSU it comes to about R5880 from esquire.
