I was just wandering what is the best sort of connection uptime anyone can expect from iBurst? I have probably hit 4 days or something before which sounds good but if I compare it to a real always on connection like ADSL, its crap. Right now I'd say I can get 18 hours, sometimes 32. So what sort of uptimes do you get now and what was your best?

dec to mid jan: averaging 25 hrs
mid jan to feb: 6 hrs @ most
now: as long as i want to (/me sprays jinxproof brew around the UTD). seem to have stabilised apart from the updates they have been conducting.
longest: 5 days and some couple o' hours

I have had iBurst for two weeks now and the connection has been up the entire time - not one disconnect.

well where do you connect from, since they did upgrade the basestations so it seems funny how you didn't disconnect that entire time.

I also hate it when people talk **** - but on this occasion I am not one of those people.

I am located in Cape Town and connected to the Belville tower.

Actually CT is supposed to be one of the most stable parts of SA ITO iBurst, the only reason [I can think of] why that might be true, is all the WBS tweakers are up here in Jhb :(.

yeah i dont think they did upgrade the CPT ones, i think the reason the connections are more stable in CPT is they have like ten people on 4 towers

They upgraded the towers this weekend you dumbass, meaning, doesn't matter which tower you were on, you had 30 minutes of downtime. If auto-redial is set on your connection, it would mean you're reconnected.

btb, being a cape tonian, all I can say is that with the frequent power interuptions they experience, I doubt you stayed online for that long, nevermind had your PC on for that long, nevermind being ABLE to keep your PC on for that long (seeing as cape tonians imo aren't really bright when it comes to computers)

I can honestly say, that most of the cape tonians I know, still thinks that callmore time applies during public holidays.... nuff said

sactly.... they work so gawd damn slow it's impossible to get a decent 19 hour day in

hmm so this has turned into a cape tonian bashing forum - point is you just so *$@^* jealous.

Oh and as far as I know Gauteng has had more power disruptions than you could count - dumbass!

Me neither, and I've only lived here for 2 years :D jpd, it would help you to find out your FACTS before claiming something. The only other person able to do this is me, and I do it deliberately just to instigate some...how you say... instability in what people may or may not believe in to force them into thinking in different ways and experience a different train (no, not metro rail) thought for once
