Ok so where do I start...

A couple of months ago i logged a complain on hellopeter regarding this service. Got a response saying that it is accurate wadawadawada.

Let me explain better, me and the missus went through a bad time and there was no trust between us so we both decided that this service will help. So one day a couple of months back I use the service and it came back saying that she was in Goodwood close to the casino. I then foned her as according to her she was at the Waterfront, yet putting my trust in this paid for service I doubted her. So she sent me fotos proving where she was. Sending a request to the service it once again showed me she was in Goodwood with a accuracy of 1km.

Today months later i use the service again and according to it she is in Kuilsriver R304 accuracy 2km. I phoned her questioning it as she said she is home (Durbanville Bergsig). She continued to phone me from the home phone once again proving her actual location.

Now i have bin paying for this service for years and this has made my life quite difficult. Now my question is how can i take this further as this is not acceptable.

This service gets advertised as a way you can find your child, "peace of mind" yet even if he is just next door it can show a location far from there. Creating a very difficult situation.

Any help will be appreciated as this has cause enough harm and needs to be taken down.

You'd be better off getting a proper smart phone like an iPhone which uses gps. Why you need to track each other I don't know.

Well when there is no trust a "working" service like this can help build it again.
Think of it like this what if it was your kid that just goes missing and this service sends you on a wild chase into nowhere. Yet he is just down the road at a friends place playing and his phone is in his schoolbag not getting answered.

Nice service to be paying for dont you think?

Something needs to be done.

And not everyone can afford to buy there kids a R6000 phone knowing that its just gna get broken.

I'm not sure tracking each other is actually putting "trust" in either of you.

Trust in your partner comes when they CAN fool around, but don't.

Well that is besides the point, this is a service that get advertised, asked money to be used yet doesnt work as advertised.
What will be the procedure to report them...

As always, a little bit of knowledge goes a long way. Maybe trying to understand how the service works, its pros and cons and its limitations will help you use it better. Although it might just exasperate your trust issues. See below.

The service basically just report the cell tower you last attached to, nothing more. The network is designed that you typically attach to the closest tower, but this is not always the case. For example, if you're up on a hill you might 'see' many towers and you could attach to any of them. This could clearly give a false reading as the network will think you're physically close to that tower when you're not.

Also, have you considered that the system could be abused to a certain level? If I want you to think I'm in a certain area, I drive there, make sure the network 'sees' me (make a call or send an SMS), turn the phone off and drive to wherever I don't want you to know I am.

See the problem? ;)

As posted above, if you want a more accurate service, down to street address level, get GPS-enabled phones. And make sure they don't get turned off either as they will also only report the last known location.
