Hello Dealers.

I am looking for 2 x 4 port SATA Raid PCI cards.
Something like the Sunix SATA4000 based on the tried and tested Silicon Image Sil3114a chip.

A dealer within Cape Town would be even better. I have tried Frontosa and they only have IDE PCI cards left.

Regards,
BTTB.

Hi Totempole. I looked at that one, always hesitant to buy from overseas.
Cynic, lets see what comes out of the woodwork, I may take you up on your offer. Thanks.

No problem. The SATA 4000 is no longer available in the dealer chain. Bought quite a few when they were available and unfortunately only have 1 left

These cheap 4 port Sata cards are really shyte. Have a look on eBay for an entry level sas controller.

You shouldn't be. I order stuff like this all the time. You do have to be prepared to wait at least a month though.

I can't disagree with you there. They are useful for adding SATA ports to machines that don't have them, but that's about where their usefulness ends.

Hi I Think I have a Silicon Image Sil3114a Sata controller somewhere in a box.... will let you know if I can find it.

I bought it back then as a project to upgrade firmwares of Xbox 360 DVD rom drives - but then left for overseas so never got round to it.

Gozzy, when you find that card let us know which one it is, with a bit of luck it might be the same one Cynic has.
