Hi guys

I have 2 awesome apps that i would like to see become reality.
Only thing is i have the idea but i dunno what to do further who can a person consult about this idea that you have and to make sure that person doesnt steal your idea. Can anyone maybe give me some advise ?

No, can't help but I'm sure this thread is going to start the usual debate. You can see any number of threads in this forum with people looking for applications to be developed. They usually go in the same direction.

iggggg thats not good i had the idea now for like 4 years thought ill give it a shot.

Unless the idea is ridiculously unique, the chances of someone already having it is very high. Especially in the mobile app market: everyone and their mother has a mobile app nowadays.

The problem with the thread: very vague, no mention of the type of compensation, time required etc. As mentioned "everybody has an idea" and most likely yours would be nothing special (if history is an indicator).

Now, I'm in a good mood and will entertain you if you want to PM me (and cross my heart, hope to never lose my job and have free time, I won't steal your idea)

Dont want to put much info just because of the thing that im scared someones gonna steal the idea

Well nobody is going to want to meet you in person because of the thing that you might be a crazed serial killer.

What are you willing to disclose?

If me and the person can come to a agreement im sure ill disclose everything what i need and so on.
But here i wont disclose much

Being extremely vague is certainly not helping your plight.

What work (if any) have you done around your ideas? For example: have you spent any time defining your requirements, analyzing your ROI, drafting a basic design, ...?

Keep in mind development when approached constructively is only a small part of bringing a solution to market; for example: the ratio of time allocation is often as follows: 40% for analysis & design. 20% for development & 40% for quality assurance (testing, ...)

So unless you're assured to have completed much of the analysis & design, now might not be the right time to engage with a developer.

If you have, then your next step would be to formally engage with a developer or development house for a specification; which btw is typically a paid step i.e. the developer will be formally responding to your design requirements, and typically also committing to elements like: budget requirements, deliverables, timelines, ...

Naturally if you have concerns about revealing your ideas; it would be pertinent to require a confidentiality agreement and probably something like a non compete clause re any of your ideas.

Unfortunately ideas are worthless - everyone comes up with new ideas everyday.

Its execution that matters.

so right now it is wroth nothing so you have nothing to loose then chatting with someone you trust ?

this is an answer to you and every single other person who asks this question every 2 days.

here's what you do. write down your requirements. all of them. maybe mockup each screen and the flow of the thing. spend time on it. maybe use a trello board or a diagram tool or whatever.

maybe list apps you've seen that are kinda similar or websites you know that are sort of similar or maybe you just like the flow or the look or something.

then post that pdf or diagram or whatever it is and let people take a look and get back to you

the better your requirements and the better your drawing and mock ups the better your responses will be.

never be afraid so share your idea in general terms. sure you have a hook of some secret sauce or whatever, maybe keep that on the down low. but you can't keep us completely in the dark.

Ideas are very unique for 2 reasons:

1. Its a daft idea
2. Nobody thought of it yet.

My money is on 1 :D
