Hi guys,

As the title states, anyone in this area of expertise know of any purchasable systems out there. The problem I'm experiencing at the office is the use of a whole mix of different mediums i.e. Dropbox, pc desktops etc so I end up finding 2 different variations of the same document because someone doesn't care to update the dropbox ( which I mainly use and which was setup for that purpose ) so I would like to have one central system where everything goes and preferably on premise.

To give an idea of what I'm looking for check out www.papertrail.co.za. The only problem is I have already attempted to contact them several times and still no reply... doesn't even let you outright buy the software ( you gotta apply for a 60 day trial which before getting, submits a request for a consultant to get back to you bla bla )

Any help would be greatly appreciated and nothing over the top... i think around 3k is decent?

Owncloud is like a dropbox which you can host yourself.

Afresco is an advanced commercial open source enterprise content management system. Even the free community edition is very capable.

There are bitnami stacks/virtual appliances available for both of these at https://bitnami.com/stacks

Stay away from paper trail. We just finished writing our own. You're better off doing that.

I did have someone that was willing to write software for us but when the amount came in my other 2 partners veto'd it ( was about 45k but included a equipment management system too )... they much rather spend the company money on fishing trips.

Paper trail is in the hundreds of thousands. It would have cost us 2million and the 300k a month for our company. Then we spent 50 on a barcode sdk and wrote it in three weeks, with fault tolerance, multi point replication.
