Looking for a dynamic dns service with domain registration

Hi all

Does anyone know of a dynamic dns service i can use? Where i can also register domain names with them?

I want to set up a small web server to host a number of small basic websites.
But i have a dynamic ip and cant afford a static ip.

So is there a south african service i can register my domain names with and has the service of using a dynamic dns?

I also need it to to be cheap R50 a month or far per annual price.

As far as the dynamic DNS is concerned, DynDNS should be your first point of reference. For the domain name, you can work through http://www.godaddy.com and register one yourself.

Is there no service in SA like dyndns or no-ip dns?

I had a look at everyDNS.net, but say you register a custom name like www.bobjoe.co.za will it still work with everydns.net?

I do know you can use a custom domain name for a dynamic dns account. AFAIK it should work fine to get local access from that domain name via an international dns account.

I register .za.net domains for my dynamic dns.

Basically.. use everydns and their dynamic dns client, register a domain at .za.net ... but register it with the everydns dns records.

So basically I can get:;

mydomain.za.net as my machine instead of mysubdomain.soemoneelesdomain.com

I have my own ddns server setup for client dynamic dns.. its local but private.

I see when you register with www.za.net you have to provide dns servers, you said you must register with the records. How do i register with za.net with the everyDNS records. Must i email them?

I have an account with everydns.com and i see you must add your domain name under the dynamic ip section and use their client which i understand.

So what i would do is register with za.net a domain name, then i would i add this domain name in my everydns.org account dynamic section?

Will www. still work or will i have domain names with out the www.?

Sorry ive started learning about the whole dns thing.

For the domain name, you can work through http://www.godaddy.com and register one yourself.

What ever you do, do NOT use godaddy. The hold domains hostage, auction your domain off if they mess up your billing, refuse to transfer your domain unless you cough up a $100 non-refundable "transfer fee" and many more horror stories (see link).

when i try to register with za.net i get

ERROR: Nameserver ns1.everydns.net is not authoritative for deswebadmin.za.net

being deswebadmin.za.net the name i tried to register.
In the za.net name section i added the name servers like they ask.
