Looking for a free FPS to LAN with ;)

Hi dudes, can anyone recommend me a good FPS game which is capable of being played over a LAN and not just over internet?

I found this list on wikipedia:

But it's hard to tell if any of those can be played over LAN.

If you know, please tell, I don't want scifi or anything futuristic, war would be good ;) :D :p

Free there is a thread oub it somewhere. U can lan or play oinline
 
It's a bit of a knock to download it, I don't have the bandwidth, but are you sure you can LAN with it? ;)

Edit: have you got a download link for me bro? I'm battling to find it :p

I can make u a disc if you want. Just bear in mind you need to be a few players or else the maps are borring.

Thanks for the kindness Pitbull ;)

But it looks like AA won't work for me, the minimum requirements are too high. There will be 3 players.

Got another game you could recommend?

Edit: The two desktop pc's can handle it, but I'd like to shoot someone on a smaller laptop :D

A cracked version of Quake arena ?
 
It's a shame the specs are so high for AA, some backward compatibility would have helped :p

But I understand what you're saying about the big maps, that's no fun at all with few players.

Why dnt you get one of the old Delta Force'??
They should work??

Sounds like your looking for something like BF2

Maybe 1 disc should allow some Lan action

Yeah, that's an option, or I could try to find someone who still has NOLF1 and NOLF2, that's an awesome game to LAN :p

LOL! :D ;) :p You mean if I use half, the internet portion falls away? :p

I haven't tried but I assume you would be able to play the game on a LAN. The game can be played offline afaik. So the maps and so forth should be usable on a LAN. Some BF2 boffens might ba able to help us here. how about Black Hawk Down ? I recall a all night LAN we did doing this baby :)
 
Maps are huge on Black Hawk Down ;) BF2 sounds good, but it's not free and the system specs are quite high.

We had a nice all nighter with 6 people playing...

Again... I missed u looking for something for about 3 players
 
War Rock has low specs IIRC. Don't know much about it though
 
Not sure if War Rock can be played over LAN, I can't find it on the site ;)

Do you guys have more input for me? ;) :D :p pretty please! :p

I used to love playing BHD, even when I only had ISDN.

Do people still play?

Hmmm, I wonder if my mini meets the specs for it :D
