Looking for a good Kodi Media Streamer

Seen a few, have one now that is really old, want one that is fast in the menus, and navigating. 2gb ram mininum, and not the Nvidia Shield, as that is great, but too expensive.

Any first hand experience really appreciated.

need advice before spending money
 
I am considering building a small pc.

500gig hdd, AMD APU(motherboard + processor with built in graphics), DDR4 ram(8gig) and mini/micro atx case.
pair that with a light weight linux distro you should have something that will last you for years to come.
 
Bought an Amazon Fire TV for this, works great as an integrated platform across Kodi, Netflix, Hulu etc.

Loving it
 
I have a T95M 2GRAM 16GROM TV Box. It is running Lollipop and I am very happy with it.
I see upgraded versions (T95z running Marshmallow) is out now as well.

Great little machine. Takes up no space. Beware of Android boxes. Sound problems.

I have two Raspberry Pi's (v3) , both running Kodi and Exodus as a video add-on. Works really well for me and has all the right adapter connections available, and built in wifi performs well when streaming up to 720p - higher than that I'd recommend cable connection.
 
I have a M8S
2gig ram and it doesn't run hot like others do.
Very happy with it. Cost about R1300. And with my newly acquired C120 air mouse I'm very happy with it.
 
I have the minix U1, very happy with it, getting 500mbps on wireless ac. The platform has a great support forum and updates are often released which is important.

are you running with the recommend pi v3 power supply..? or one that is specced the same..? 5.1v 2.5A
 
I had a MyGica, was pretty happy with it. Faster than the MXQ I replaced it with, anyway.
 
I have a MyGica ATV 585 that I bought last year from takealot at a discount and have been very happy with it.

Pros:
- Handles 1080p streams over my measly 4Mbps fibre connection with aplomb
- No issues with any codecs so far incl. HEVC or x265
- Lively (and mostly helpful) support forums

Cons:
- Comes with Android 4.4 and it looks like MyGica is unlikely to push an update to a newer version of the OS.
- This apparent inability to upgrade the underlying OS may mean that you're going to be confined to Kodi 16.1 (Jarvis) as later versions require Android 5.0 minimum
- Remote takes some getting used to (but you can use your phone/tablet as a remote to alleviate this)
