Looking for a new ADSL Package

Hey guys,
Currently I'm on the Closer Plan 5 and have been for the last couple o' years.
Now my bill comes to ~R900 every month. I can really feel the pinch now and mostly because the calling plan that comes with the closer plan I hardly even use. Taking the fact that I only use my cell phone for making calls and receiving.
The thing is that I want to still keep my ADSL line (4Mb) but not have the calling plan. So I've been checking out the doBroadband package for R554 without the calling plan. But then I do have family in Durban, Joburg, Australia etc. etc. that call from time to time and it would be cheaper for them call the landline from their landline. So I would still need to have the line available to recieve calls. I don't want to fork out another R200 just for the phone line rental on top of the ADSL (4Mb) rental.
Are there any packages that you guys on that you can recommend thats cheaper? Taking into account that I still want to keep the 4Mb ADSL line.
 
short answer is you cant have your ADSL line without your normal telephone line so you will always be paying your R130 rental plus ADSL (R554 for Do3 if thats what u go for) so R684 odd
 
yeah thats what i have 684 is still steep but hell if you cant beat em join em
 
Hey Jizzims check out Cybersmart - their prices are usually a bit lower than Telkom's. May not be a big saving, but every bit counts, hey.
 
Ok cool guys,
So you guys are on the doBroadband Level 3 Package for R554.
And phone line rental for R130.
So all together it should come to R684. (Currently Closer Plan 5 costs me ~R887)
 
The closer 3 plan (with 3 gigs) will be upgraded to 5 gigs on 1 Augs. Correct?
 
BTW cybersmart is adjusting to the Telkom caps as well. Check www3.cybersmart.co.za

What utter nonsense, its only available on their one price accounts. Just waiting for the new openweb packages, sick and tired of cybersmart shafting their normal account users :mad:
 
Have a look at the comparison site in my sig. You might find something that suits.

Why don't people want to use Cybersmart for the line as well? It's far cheaper than anywhere else you could get the line. The only thing I can think of is the Telkom Do packages, but you get versions of them without the line rental don't you?

And of course it's going to be cheaper with the line rental included, how are they shafting them in the past anyway?
