Do you guys have any suggestions? Mine is not working anymore.

Also its for DIY so nothing like a fluke that will cost me a house. Something that would last more then a year

Auto ranging is nice to have , easier to work with .

Have had a Major Tech for many years. Durable and works well.

Look for one that also measures frequency for AC mains. There are some not so expensive ones available now with capability to measure mains frequency.

I'd suggest go for a good quality Majortech or Toptronic, browse pawn shops if budgeting. (Test in store).
If your DIY includes electronics, Cx, Lx and Hz (capacitance, inductance, frequency) are very useful.

What do you need it for?
Mains/High voltage: Fluke 101 (high voltage, not high resolution or much functionality, super safe)
Digital electronics: Uni-T UT61E (get better probes)
Measure current: Uni-T UT210E (never use with probes, clamp only)

Each of these are best in class at the price point. All 3 have a following on a number of forums, especially the UT61E. The Fluke 101 is especially impressive for high voltage transients. It rated better during testing than some of the most expensive multimeters out there. UT210E can measure AC & DC current, including down to milliamps region with fair accuracy, especially given the price. Get all 3 and you have best of all worlds.
