Hi guys

Im looking for an 80+ modular and quiet PSU for my new build. Preferably a 750W with a 3 year + warrenty and mostly black.

I was looking at the CM G750M

My budget is R1400 and I can order from Pinnacle, Esquire and Rectron.

Thanks!

Seasonic or Antec.

If you are looking for quiet read the reviews on Silent PC Review http://www.silentpcreview.com/

The Antecs only have 2 years warranty on them. :(

I looking into Seasonic a while back. Will give them a look over again.

Not looking for deadly silent just quiet. My last PSU (cm 550w extreme) made a fair bit of noise when the pc idled...

Now that Wootware finally has them in stock, I'd also add Super Flower to the list of possible brands you can look at. They're mostly on the same level as Seasonic and high-end FSP designs, if not better. jonnyGURU gave the Leadex 750W a 9.7/10 score.

Had a look at these and they are definitly frikken amazing!

Had to get myself an SSD this month... So the PSU will have to wait till the next pay day. (picked up a 850 pro :D)

Picked up and Antec 1300 HCP supply. I believe it is the only supply with a 7 year warranty!! Will see what happens. . . .

Not even going to bother looking at the price on that :erm::whistle:

I use the Seasonic 750w if I remember correctly.
It's a fantastic psu.
Silent as well.

I also have a Seasonic, the X750. Modular and also 7 year warranty.
Can't recommend it enough!

ended up with the super flower leadex 850w. Its probably way overkill for my build but thats all they had in stock.

I have the X660, and couldn't be happier. But I believe you couldn't go wrong with the Super Flower 850.

If you need quiet, you need a hybrid fan PSU, like the Seasonic X series (I think) and Corsair AX (7 year warranties on these).

The fan stays off until about 40% load is reached, at which point it kicks in.

If you buy a high enough wattage, your PC's load will never exceed the 40%, meaning your PSU's fan will never be on.

Not sure if the Super Flower uses a hybrid fan, doesn't look like it from the info. I'm sure it's quiet enough though. ;)

IIRC there's a little switch on the back that puts it in hybrid mode. As you mentioned the fan doesn't kick in till 40%. 850W will definitely mean that 40% is a little harder to reach.

Have to borrow a case and elchepo 450w PSU from work till it arrives. Turns out my 4790K and sabertooth board have arrived and will be here tomorrow. Not sure when the PSU will come through I'm kinda getting use to this waiting game though...

If you got it from Wootware it will be 2 days from being dispatched. I got my tracking number on the 10th and it was delivered on the morning of the 12th.

My superflower is very quite and the exaust air is cool, this is for the 450W version.

Define sticks?

The stuff usually arrives at the durban depot at 05:30 and at 07:30 it's out on the road again so worst case you get a afternoon delivery.

Eshowe - between Richards bay and Ballito (closer to Richards bay), but about 30 odd Kms inland.

well if its here by Friday ill eat the arctic silver I've got sitting in my draw waiting to go on my new chip tomorrow!

No need to explain, some of us know where it is and have even been there a few times :D

You should get it in 2days time, at worst 3. When did the courier collect it? What does the status on the couriers website say?
