track some basic fitness stuffs (Steps, heart rate and maybe sleep)

The Watch interface isn't anything like the Apple iPhone/iPad/iPod.

Since you're on Android, you can look at what Huawei and Samsung have, and Garmin are also an option.

Can't remember if this one can control Spotify, I think it can. However, it does not do speakerphone/handsfree.

This one can do hands free calls (46mm versions only), and can definitely control spotify.

If you don't want to link it with discovery vitality, then you can save yourself some cash and get the less recognised brands, like a xiaomi.
If you are with vitality, I'd say the Samsung galaxy watches (they are chunkier, so would suit your large wrists better) or the Huawei gt 2 46mm

Thanks

The reason i mentioned the wrist size is because most watches dont fit ..... thats where the biggest issue lies

It's weird that the Huawei GT does not have loudspeaker. I've got the Huawei Watch 2 that was released prior to the GT, and it has a speaker. I was just about to comment that it, can since the Watch 2 can but then checked GSM arena

To OP, Like mentioned by everyone else, I'm sure a Huawei GT 2 would suit your budget and needs.

GT had a different focus to a Watch2 - it was more sports oriented whereas the 2 was more your traditional smartwatch.

I have had 2 Samsungs (Gear S3 Frontier and Galaxy watch), getting the Galaxy watch 3 shortly ... does all you want it to do. I would say look maybe for the latest -1 Galaxy watch, but Xiaomi might also have what you are looking for

@marbro
Other than answering the call the rest is covered by the Amazfit GTR (not sure about Spotify but will let you play/pause next/previous and volume on YT Music and phone media player). I have the 47mm. My wife has the 42mm Swarovski 42mm and son has the normal 42mm. Battery life (unless you use the GPS regularly) is great. At least 18 days on the 47mm and 14 days on the 42mm. Software is easy to use and works with Google Fit. Charging is fast. if I put mine onto charge everyday when I shower (about 10 mins) it stays above 90% all the time.

As a recent buyer of a smartwatch. I'd recommend Galaxy active 2. Perhaps the larger one. It has all the features you pointed out and then some. Tracks steps, heart rate, sleep etc. Controls Spotify and can even act as a standalone Spotify player with a premium account. Shows WhatsApp messages and has quick replies. Takes phone calls as well. And I reckon it looks good. Might I add that it has WiFi as well as NFC. All round package. Only issue is that it might be small if you have giant wrists. Other than that I think it ticks all the boxes. Battery life is also not bad.

Ah ha
Does that have all the features?

5 day battery ain't great and apparently he also has tree trunks for wrists so maybe the 40 is too small?

Yes it does. 5 day battery is pushing it though. More like a 2 day battery which is palatable given the options out there and there will always have to be a balance between long battery life and smart features. Most are dumb smartwatches. But yea the trunk part I can't help with.

Jirr.
The huaweis I referenced will last 10 days to 2 weeks.

Do they all have an option to tap and pay? You might want to check that out.

On battery life, just check with users what the "I never use gps" vs "I use gps a few times a week" have to say. I recon that, if you are going to use gps regularly then you are willing to settle for 2 day battery life rather than 2 week battery life.

What I can't stand is the companies that advertise 5 day battery life (if you basically turn all the features off) but it's only 2 days. Even 5 days is a pita.

im not too phased on the battery life, while im sitting at my desk i dont mind chucking it on charge for 2-3 hours. Its more for when im at the gym/driving/walking that i would like to have the fancy digital watch.

also talking into it would make me look like a hella cool spy

@Sinbad dont hate on the treetrunk wrists.... :(
