Looking for a top down 2d racing game

OK so i know what it is not

Not death rally (good game)
and not iron man (also not to shabby)

I played the game around 5 years ago
Like iron man, to get better you can upgrade your tires and engine but in this game you can upgrade you pit crew as well.

It was very addictive drift racing game, like on mud or something can any one help?
I thought it had good graphics...

I have tried searching but nothing :(

The best car racing game I played besides Need For Speed porcha, was wacky wheels. That was really a fun game to play. Too bad it wasn't a top down racer, as I would really have liked to reccomend that to ya :)

have played that before .. was good, any car you like the most?
You can also play more than 1 player on a computer.
 
no not the one .. it is really top down .. like death really
but that looks like a cool game

Heres a game that is both Cockpit, 3rd person and top down view.

Interstate '76 also a favourite. Has a couple of expansions but I've never tried them though.
 
i remember one, where you also had a gun on your car and you could shoot other cars down.

The tracks were in like an urban war zone kinda landscape.

Also could buy upgrades for your cars etc - i forget the name!

Is this game on the Playstation by any chance?
I actually played such a game at incredible connection eons ago. I would have loved to get the name, as it was an increddibly fun and addictive game back then :)
 
Anyone know where I can find the Interstate series for download - was hooked on those growing up - also I'd like to replay it has good memories of myself and a friend playing it, he was hijacked about 2 years ago and killed so it would mean a lot if somebody could point me in the right direction.

Hey Vember..

I know exactly the game you are talking about, bad news is that i have also forgotten the name and cant find it.(and ive searched, believe me)

the game had really superior GFX when compared to things like ironman and the others posted here. and best of all was the gameplay with the pit stops and fuel/tyre wear.

if you find this game, PLEASE let me know!
