Hi everyone!

This will be my first post on MyBB, so apologies if this is the wrong place for this.

I'm stuck between no internet connection and Telkom's wonderful customer service right now, and I'm looking for an alternative option to ADSL.

Unfortunately as I'm renting a flat, installing the equipment that comes with most wireless options (Neotel, Level-7, etc) isn't really an option for me. Moving costs are a bitch and it's not always easy to get permission to install aerials and the like.

So, I'm looking at mobile options. I'm a fairly heavy user so 5GB or 10GB really isn't sufficient. I need at least 200GB a month. Unfortunately my budget is also limited at a max of R999 a month.

Can anyone recommend any ISP with deals that would suit my usage and budget? Also excellent service would be a bonus.

Thanks in advance for your advice.

I think you are out of luck... there is no mobile data provider in SA that offers uncapped data or 200GB for less than R999. Everything that does offer uncapped data requires an antenna or dish (WISP) or an actual line (ADSL\VDSL)

I'd persist with ADSL if you need a lot of data, there are some packages that are becoming more viable on LTE, but not enough yet over 100GB a month. If you go with Telkom Mobile LTE and use the night surfer data smartly you might get through a month but then you get yourself locked into a contract and you get to deal with Telkom again.

Vodacom has a 40GB LTE business package for around R720pm for a 12 month contract, but can't really that see that helping you if you need 5 times as much. If you are desperate for internet and can lower your usage for a year then it might help out till you move or maybe something better comes around in 12 months time?
