Hi

I am looking at purchasing a Wii

Where can I find the best deal?

Ignore ^^^^^^

Great deals around - Game and Toys-R-Us to name two. Just make sure you get the motion+ package. Or the black limited edition Wii - on special it cost me less than white and includes motion+. :)

Its a cheap way to make money because they should've integrated the increased precision in the original wiimote anyways :D

Obviously you have to get it though.

I can sell you my Wii with controls and like 10 games, PM me and make me an offer, I barelly used mine, got it for my wife and she doesn't play it (I am a PC gamer).

Thanks for all the replys guys

I am surprised that the Wii limited edition is actually different to the white one I thought it was just more expensive because of the colour will have a look at the shops listed

I am more a PC gamer and it might be fun for my wife and I to play with it I just have my fear that I spend all the money and use it for a month and get sick of it

has anyone tired the exercise stuff is it actually worth anything

We have the WiiFit. It's fun, but not a replacement for real exercise. Good for stretching, but not much cardio vascular.

The Grand Slam tennis makes me sweat a lot, and Tiger Woods golf gives my back a real good workout though.

just another quick question

If I buy the Limited edition Wii black console

I will still have to but an additional Wii remote and Nunchuck and the Motion Plus addon if I want to have two player capability?

yes

Black Wii + additional wiimote + nunchuck + 1 x motionplus is cheaper than white Wii + wiimote + nunchuck + 2 x motionplus.

Not all games use the nunchuck, I hardly use both.

The fit stuff is great but like any other workout you must keep it up.

If you want to game with your wife then the wii is a great option, that is why I got my wii. My PC is for my stuff but if we both want to play then we jam on the wii.

The best is when you get a bunch of mates around and everyone can play.

Get an extra remote with nunchuck, if you get the white ones you can get them second hand.

I, too, am keen on a Wii. Checked Makro today and they have the Wii Black Edition for R3000.

I want to get a Wii for my gf and I 0 mostly for Guitar Hero, however I have a bit of a dilemma:

Wii Black Edition (R3000) + Wiimote with Motion+ (R900) + Guitar Hero 5 Bundle (R1000) + Additional Guitar (R300)

R5200...

See, I'm not sure whether it would be worth getting Motion+ as we are mostly gonna play Guitar Hero and maybe some Mario Brothers. How worthwhile is the Motion+? The other issue is that I would rather buy from an actual brick and mortar shop than online as I don't really want to wait a week for shipping. Makro only has the Black Edition in stock, and their stuff seems pretty damn expensive comparatively. Haven't checked Game yet, but I will try to do so tomorrow. My thoughts are that it would work out better to get the regular Wii console, an additional Wiimote and then the guitar hero controllers, and then go with Motion+ next month...

Any ideas or suggestions, I really can't spend more than R5000 this month :(

I also just went to Toyrus, CNA, Incredable connection and Musica

They all out of stock on the Black and White edition so will have to wait a while for stock

I am just a little unsure on one thing
The Black edition's remote has motion plus built into it also comes with Wii sport resort which has a motion plus addon for a remote so you only have to buy an additional remote and Nunchuck and no addition motion plus. Am I right here?

The prices are as follows assuming the above is true

Black edition Wii - R2899.00
Wii Remote - R349.00
nunchuck - R349.00
Total Price - R3287

The black controller that comes with Motion+ is about R699.

If you only want to play guitar hero then you don't really need an extra controller.

No. There is no such thing as a "built in motion+". The black Wii comes with one Motion+ add-on. You'll have to buy another one for the second wiimote. I bought an all-in-one package for black (wiimote and motion+) for R849. I think a white wiimote was R599 and R450 for the motion+ IIRC so it worked out cheaper.

(this was end last year BTW, prices may have come down since)
