I know that I've posted in an earlier thread about how excellent Uninet was but this time they were a let-down.

A friend of mine had them do an installation at his factory in the Phillipi industrial area - that was about a month ago. Yesterday, they visited his premises to tell them that the signal - both ways, I guess - is not strong enough because their closest transmission tower is in Goodwood; they did offer though to boost the signal but they couldn't guarantee the reliablity of the service.

To make a long story short, he ois now very disappointed that they did the installation in the first place as their feasibilty study should have showed that it wouldn't have been possible. Anyways, he's looking for a new WISP who's set up round about that area.

Note: Telkom also doesn't have any ADSL infrastructure in the area.

Any suggestions? Would really be appreciated, thanks :)

*sigh*
How do you boost a signal without increasing power on the CPE or the tower? unless they mean to put up a better antenna which im doubting.

They DID mention something aboout putting up a better antennae but the lack of guarantee was the decisive factor; this was for a business after all - they need a reliable connection at all times.
