Looking for alternative for WA

Most ISP's do offer an option to transfer an existing line to them I believe, they may not have as much of a discount as WA does at the moment, but even R20 saved is R20.

I'd imagine any ISP would be a iffy about leaving the line with them, but moving data elsewhere though.
If i may add onto this....MOVE your line ( as i doubt they'll let you keep it ) to your latest ISP...This way you need only phone ONE place if you experience a problem, otherwise THIS one...will always blame THAT one for a fault...If you know what i mean?
( I'm talking FIRST HAND experience here, lol )

Thanks for adding that - it is a good idea to move your line to the ISP you are planning on using.

Many people will argue that having your line through an ISP is a crappy idea, but it can actually benefit you - besides the cost factor, the larger ISP's have (limited) access to various support systems which Telkom would use anyway if you call their help-desk. So no difference really. Besides, in my experience, ISP support staff are generally a bit sharper than the tools in the Telkom shed...

Do not move your line to your ISP. Always keep your line directly with Telkom. Trust me, I know from first-hand experience, if you have your line with your ISP that is just one more layer of BS that you have to deal with when things go wrong.

If the line is already with an ISP, then it won't make much difference moving it to the new ISP.

The best option is always to keep it with Telkom right from the start, I will not argue with that. Whenever I have had ADSL at home/office, I opted to have the line through Telkom.

However, as Centaur implied, their line is already with an ISP - so I would imagine they have their reasons (Whether it be cost, good experience so far etc). In which case, the line should be moved to new ISP as well when the new account is ordered.

The ideal solution would be to move it back to Telkom again, that way ISP's can be changed at will without having to go through the crap of moving a line as well each time.

Just do it...
Get MWEB, don't wait a moment longer.

I've just cancelled my WA account (also stuck until end of May...) and signed up for a 7-day trial at Mweb. 1mb Uncapped at R199? Not bad at all!

Lol the call you get about a hour after you cancel and they want to know why is rather awkward. lol especially after all the mails I got from them telling me to stop abusing their service.
