Looking for an amp component

Is it possible to get one in the region of R1,000. Can you recommend me some brands and places to check out in Johannesburg?

What are you looking for 5.1, 7.1, standard stereo? For that price I would buy something second hand and 5.1. Possibly a Sony or Pioneer or something similar.

I buy a lot of stuff from Cash Crusaders and have never been dissapointed. They have a 3 month warranty that will cover everything. You should be able to check it out in that space of time.

I bought a 5.1 Sony from their Sea Point branch about 2 years ago. I paid 5K for a set of brnad new Mission speakers and have never looked back.

thinking about it i'll probably up the budget to look at at least in the R2000-R2500 range.

I would take a look around Audio Vision/Ster Discounters/Tafelberg Furnishers. You should get a Pioneer/Sony amp for around that price.
