Got a freelance project for anybody who thinks they can provide the goods :)

Basic info:

Got a voice logging app on a server (Amethyst)

Got the Voice Logger SDK and a DLL that can connect to the server via TCP,pretty simple set of commands to pull info using the DLL. Have a source app in Delphi 7 too if needed demonstrating the functionality.

Basically the app needs to run on the PC minimized to task bar. Variables used in the app can be stored in a ini or XML file, those variables being the Extension,Server address and server port. When an event is received that matches the stored extension,it calls a web address and passes a few parameters retrieved by the DLL to the webpage ( this functionality is already present to receive and process the parameters )

Also the source becomes the company's property just for modification purposes and future updates. Last guy wrote an app, took his money and left, now that the PCs have been upgraded the app is useless and he can't be contacted

Any takers?

Negotiable,if I had the energy to actually install VS2010 i'd do it but too many projects right now..should be an hour, max 2 to do

That's always relative... Nothing takes "an hour, 2 max" in my experience. Even for small scale applications I'd budget for at least 5-8 hours of work. If you do it in anything less, you're not testing it properly.

Budget? Timeframe?
Elusive freelance $$$, eh? :p

That amount of testing for an app using a previously tested DLL,with full Com module command list to store 4 settings and call a web-address on an event? Hmm guess I should expect my car wash to take a day of testing to make sure it's working as intended :P

I'm budgeting for how long it'd take me to do it,testing will be on the fly - thus source necessity

Maybe it's just me then, but I'd never release a project (even WITH source) to a client without properly testing it first. Buggy, untested applications just drag the developer's name through the mud and decreases the chance of future work from the client.

Of course, think you may just honestly be overestimating the amount of work :)

The COM dll has 5 events that it can receive from the server of which we'll be using 1 Event
3 Set methods,1 Get and the TCP connection method ( the sets aren't being used even )

So most the logic is pre-existing

App would be populating a flex grid of history for debug purposes, and respond to the single event that would trigger the web-page call

Lunch-break level of complexity :)

Well then, contact the other guy that's posting in this thread. He's really good at what he does. ;)
