There is Black Bullet, Captain Earth and Sidonia no Kishi for your sci-fi anime. Break blade as well, but its apparently a re-broadcast of the movies with some edited and [a few] added scenes. Watch the movie rather instead of waiting weekly.

Captain earth is kinda "meh" it's not bad but it's not good... Black bullet on the other hand is good, almost as good as no game no life

Still busy with Kill la Kill. Was rewatching Elfen Lied....so Dark :crying:

Thanks for mentioning this, the name rang a bell so I googled it and I've been wondering for years what it was called. This use to be on tv many moons ago and I use to love it (dubbed in english). Never saw the entire series but now that I know what it's called I will probably start watching it again.

Thanks!

Yosh! Time for another epic anime recommendation!

Sidonia no Kishi (Knights of Sidonia)

Basic outline:
> Remnants of humanity live in a gigantic spaceship after the solar system was destroyed
> They are under attack from a seemingly unassailable alien species
> They use mechas to fight back

I usually avoid cel-shaded anime but in this case I'll make an exception. This is quite a "serious" anime too, reminiscent Gantz in the sense that it gives you that shyte-has-hit-the-fan-and-we're-all-gonna-die feeling. Aside from the usual over the top action sequences it touches on some social issues that the population of Sidonia live with and there is quite a bit of drama too... love, betrayal etc.

The sound effects are also very well done IMO. I highly recommend watching this one with headphones. It's eight episodes in so far and looks quite promising.

Just started Kill A Kill. Had no idea it was on Netflix. I'm enjoying quite a bit. Definitely more about the fights than the story.Only 3 episodes in so far though.
