Looking for Anime Fans

So how many of you have actually learned to speak Japanese or Chinese by watching anime? :D

Wondering if it is possible? :) Also wondering if someone else asked but this is a biggish thread and I have work to do :p
 
Well you can learn Japanese phrases and some words but not speak it acceptably in conversation, there are too many nuances.
As for learning Chinese from anime, I will be severely impressed since it is Japanese.

My first anime was NGE...watched it during a boring LAN. Was awesome... :p

well i can hold a conversation in japanese and i can dream in japanese :rolleyes: iv got tapes and lessons and stuff to actually learn it but u also need to practice or it wont help

I dont understand what the issues are really! It is not that boring, I just think that they were trying to capture all viewers and somehow...had too much drama at the wrong time. :o

It is a classic, teh same way that Ninja Scroll is a classic and Akira and X.
They all have their faults but they are still classics.

I find learning Romanised Japanese easier than the kanji, to speak, but does not help much when reading it. although I don't think my japanese is good enough to have a conversation, it's probably just enough to ask directions or how much, far, come here, go away, and that kind of stuff ;)

Neon Genesis Evangelion, is a classic probably because everybody watched it... I find Blue Submarine no.6, Cowboy Bebop or Only Yesterday as more of a classic

Although I am a sucker when it comes to "Kidō Senshi Gandamu" [Gundam!] :D 1979 classic can't get any better than that!

Gundam00 was e p i c ! currently watching Ouran High School Host Club! :D then perhaps some Love Hina or D.C Da Capa ;)

SEED & Destiny! I still have to watch... :( Aparently there is a rumour that a new SEED is due out after they finnish 00 season 2

Well the end of Gundam00 left some things un-told, and revealed something more... just looking at the Char profiles on wikipedia makes my head spin :p

It would be the BEST if you could get the OVA's & movies from the start ;) otherwise I would say go, *Not too sure if it's Cronological order + this does not include some of the OVA's*

I just started on Gundam00 a while back when it came out, and I'm just waiting for Season 2. Then I'll probably go to the others like Wing, Seed, X ect. ;)

Ouran High School Host Club is the best! have not laughed so hard in a long time, going to enjoy this one for sure!!
