Hi,

Does anyone know where I can get a CAT S50 cellphone, right now?
In fact, I'm looking for 3 phones, urgently.
The only online store I could find that has them listed is Orange, but I'm not sure if this is a reputable company. Especially if they had "stores" at Nashua Mobile, who's closed down...

We ordered a Cat S50 for my uncle through Orange. Ordered, paid, phone arrived within a week with no problems or delays at all.

The CAT S50 is a piece of crap! I brought 6 of them, for staff, who work in the field. 2 are still working. 2 of them, one my wife's, fell and the screen cracked - even though they advertise it as unbreakable. One phone's simcard slot is totally busted - keeps saying "please insert SIM" and another's speaker is busted, like yours.

CAT refuse to help me, even if I pay for the repairs.
Orange are a bunch of money stealing bastards who don't honor ANY returns of warrentee claims.
Non of the cellular companies in South Africa want to repair it, since they didn't sell it to me. Even if I'm prepared to pay for the repairs.

BUT, break an iPhone, Samsung or Sony, brought from anywhere, and anyone will repair it!

CAT, you pay $$$$ for the name. Thermal image? You can get stand alone devices at a third of the price.

Rather spend R1.5K on a Doogee DG700. Mine has been seriously abused and keeps going. Cheap and strong. Breaks? Cheaper to chuck it and get a new one.
