My Asus has 2 hard drives, C: and D:

I used Google drive for years and then had to refresh my laptop. Now Drive cannot sync the same folder. You have to create a new folder and re-sync 30 gigs with Drive from scratch. I'm pissed off and so are thousands of other drive users complaining all over the net.

I'm now looking for another solution. Tried MS OneDrive but it can only sync data on my C drive and does not even consider that you have a D drive.

Is there another solution like SkyDrive or something that will "see" both my hard drives?

Never had an issue with google drive like that.

When a reinstall was needed, i move the contents of google drive folders to a different drive/external hdd. Re-install pc/laptop, set up google drive and move the data back into the google folder(s). It skips the whole re-download process and just checks the files, takes like 5-20mins depending on the amount of data

If you don't mind paying, what about Backblaze or something to that tune?

/Shameless plug for Backblaze since I enjoy their blogs and especially their hard drive reliability stats:p

How much data are we talking here?

Thanks guy, I'm talking about just under 40 gigs worth of data. I pay for a Google Drive 100 Gig backup account. Sadly that is not an option any longer. When you have to reinstall Drive it does not recognise your Google Drive folder any longer. You have to change the file location. That means you have to resync everything which takes weeks with ADSL upload speed of 1 MBps. Loads of people on the net complains about it. I have now dropped Google drive and is looking for another paid for option that can sync more than one Hard Drive. Amazon can BUT every time you open the app it doesn't just keep on syncing. You have to re-add/ select all the folders and drives you want to synch before it starts off syncing again. Again, thousands on the net complaining about the same issue.

Mmm wabbit16, Thank you, I just had a look at Backblaze and it is starting to look like the option I want for a reasonable fee. I must say, I'm a bit wary as it is an unknown brand. My fear it that one day they go belly up and I sit with stuff in the Backblaze cloud that I don't want on my devices. Still investigating. How long have you been using it for?

Ok thanks everyone. Afyer hours worth of research I decided on iDrive. It backs up in the background, you can select which folders and drives you want to backup. You can open your files online. You can close, even reinstall the app and it carries on where it left off. Unlike Google Drive. Its 60 dollars a year. Article on pcmag.com about best backup solutions was very helpful.
