The scary part is that I actually know how to do this.. :wtf:
In windows you have to do the following,
share the USB printer as a network printer, example, //computername/printer,
Try and keep it simple.
then do the following command in cmd
NET USE [LPTx:] \\ComputerName\printer_share /PERSISTENT:YES
Example,
NET USE LPT1 \\ComputerName\printer /PERSISTENT:YES
You can mount your local lpt1 to a shared printer on another computer/server or your local one.
Thanks for the reply, but after I do this and try to print from the dos based program to the LPT1 port, the printer prints but all the pages are blank.
I tried using DOS2USB printing software worked great but its only a demo. Do you maybe know of any software like that that is freeware?
Thanks for all the help. This website helped you have to change the printer processes to text, but the pages are to big they print over normal A4 due to shrinking problem as noted on that website.
I tried using the dosprn software and also works great but not sure if it is a demo or not. Hopefully its not a demo and will carry on using it.
