I hope I am posting this in the right place, if not, can someone please tell me where.

For about four weeks I have been struggling with bad speed in the evenings, after numerous emails and tests night after night with the ISP saying the fault is with the fibre provider and the fibre provider saying there is no fault. Last night the speed was excellent compared to other evenings. Usually I get about 6/8 mbs.

Can anyone tell me if this is the speed I should be getting on a 100/25 fibre line. I have attached the local test to Cape Town, the test to JHB, and the international test. Youtube is streaming perfectly, any other international site I cannot even stream in SD without buffering. These tests were directly done to the ONT, bypassing the router. There were not other updates in the background.

The speed is perfect in the day.

Thank you to anyone willing to advise me what to do.

So, to give a comparison. I normally get a ping of less than 1ms to JHB, and over 100mb/s up and down, on my 100/100 line.

To cape town, I get 99 up and down on speed tests, with a ping of 7ms

So there is definitely something wrong

Thank you for the reply. Do you mind telling me who your ISP is?

Thank you, I should have listened to my son when he said go for Cool Ideas.
This has been a problem with Vox’s network for a long time. By the looks of tings their mode is.
Give enterprise customers uncontented connections
Give business customers priority
Give the left overs to the home users
VOX my friends... that does not work in this day and age, your home network can’t be over loaded and over contented...if it is... you need to buy yourself more capacity.
